Food Pantry and Backpack Program

Inspired by Matthew Chapter 25 which Jesus said, “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me… As you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” (Mt 25, 35-40)

The programs we currently manage include our food pantries, backpack programs, and providing financial help to those experiencing hardship.

Food Pantry

The St. Thomas Food Pantry distributes food to 70 to 80 different families per month (2nd Thursday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM).

At our church mission, Risen Lord, Clay, we serve 200 -240 different families per month (4th Thursday from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM).

Backpack

The Backpack Program is a project to help children have enough food to eat at home over the weekend when schools are closed.  During the school year, we provide weekly food bags to more than 30 children who attend Burnsville Elementary School.

At our church’s mission, Risen Lord, Clay, we provide weekly food bags to more than 300 kids in Clay Elementary School.
